I am a Californian, and I am proud of the landmark legislation we have passed to ensure a strong job economy and the progression toward renewable energy. We know now that we have to move away from finite fossil fuel resources and avoid tremendous risks like the BP oil spill. AB 32: The Global Warming Solutions Act - passed in 2006 by Governor Schwarzenegger - has created 500,000 jobs for Californians and placed a cap on carbon emissions for the state, setting precedence for our nation to follow suit. Do not trust Texas oil companies - they have shoveled 90 million dollars into the toxic, petroleum-fueled mouth of the Prop 23 campaign in attempts to deceive Californians that environmental responsibility is at odds with jobs. Yet the fact is that the green jobs market has grown 10 times faster than any other job sector since 2005; overturning AB 32 will not support jobs growth, but threaten it!
Unlike Valero and Tesoro, I believe in a California that is critical and active. We will not stand by passively as corporations - much less corporations outside of our state - take control of our government and our progressive legislation. I encourage you to pledge to vote No on 23 in 2 November’s election! http://powervote.ca/
Vote No on Proposition 23! Protect California’s course for clean energy and green jobs, and speak out against corporate power and deceptive ballot measures.
